I am webmaster for a hobby group. Not interested in coding, but fairly IT literate otherwise. My free Yoast SEO plugin tells me the site has multiple broken links (many thousands) but Google Search console does not identify any security problems, neither does my hosting provider. I don’t know how to get a complete list of broken links. I don’t know how to trace and fix the links, as they are to filenames I don’t recognise. Additionally, I don’t know if any filenames are associated with malware. Some filenames occur more than once in the truncated list provided by Yoast.
The following filenames are listed by Yoast as part of the links which are reported as broken.
ups.php.suspected
blog/wp-content/themes/sketch/404.php
wp-content/plugins/jquery-html5-file-upload/readme.txt
yciqdrht.php?Fox=d3wL7
radio.php
I am not sure of the definition of “a suppport question” so have left that option unchecked below.
I would welcome advice and guidance about reducing / eliminating these 404 results.
